The grant was awarded to assist with the development of the department’s K9 program. The program will help with youth education about law enforcement and narcotics abuse. Linn is home to State Technical College and is the county seat of Osage County, Missouri.

Due to budget limitations, the Dysart Police Department looked for assistance in funding for additional training for their department. Dysart is located approximately 20 miles south of Waterloo, located in Tama County. Dysart was named after Joseph Dysart, a farmer who founded the town in 1872.
