President Donald Trump often showered accolades on America’s men and women in uniform. Many appreciated that sentiment coming from the highest office in the land. It was a change from President Obama’s persistent hostility toward cops. Joe Biden made it clear during a recent CNN town hall that he will be following President Obama’s and not President Trump’s lead.
Biden impugned all cops when he lied to the host and audience telling them all former police officers (and military) had an “impact” on the “growth of white supremacy” in America. How can any former cop not feel the sting of an insult delivered with such venom by the person occupying the highest office in the land?
I felt a similar sting back in 2009 when President Obama said, without knowing the pertinent information, “The Cambridge police acted stupidly.” And that was about cops in a department 3,000 miles away. But that kneejerk, anti-police sentiment has become such standard fare for leftists Biden didn’t even pretend to be civil or couch his anti-cop comment in thoughtful reflection. He accused an entire class of people, formerly uniformed Americans who’d served their fellow Americans, of being racists.
Biden sandwiched his insult within some interesting language. According to Breitbart (apologies for quoting Biden verbatim), “Biden said, ‘I got involved in politics, to begin with, because of civil rights and opposition to white supremacist, the Ku Klux Klan and the most dangerous people on America continue to exist. That is the greatest threat of terror in America, domestic terror. So I would make sure my Justice Department and the Civil Rights Division is focused heavily on those very folks. I would make sure we focus on how to deal with the rise of white supremacy. You see what’s happening the studies that are beginning to be done, maybe at your university as well, about the impact of former military, former police officers on the growth of white supremacy in some of these groups.’”
“He added, ‘You may remember in one of my debates from the former president, I asked him to condemn the Proud Boys he wouldn’t do. It he said stand standby and stand, ready whatever the phrase exactly was. It is a bane on our existence. It has always been as Lincoln said we have to you appear to a battle angels these guys are not and women they are in fact demented. They are dangerous people.’”
What the…?
If nothing else at least Biden’s anti-police comments are demented—even the semi-lucid stuff. His focus on some mythical rise of the KKK and white supremacy in America, while completely ignoring last year’s nationwide radical leftist violence and destruction, is astounding. The formula: take a group of people with an opposing political opinion, wrongly describe them as racist white supremacists, and then claim racism is on the rise. Nice trick.
I don’t condone any political activists perpetrating violence and property destruction. But the difference between the massive violence and destruction committed by leftist militants and any the Proud Boys and Patriot Prayer may have committed is the difference between Lake Superior and a rapidly evaporating puddle. Abundant video evidence and police reports prove this point.
The attempt by Biden and his allies to create a major “existential” threat from white supremacists, in which he includes all former police officers, is strained and distorted. Biden is gaslighting Americans by promoting a “crisis” that does not exist, which gives me confidence my position is solid. Just as when legacy media, social media, and big tech censor information, it now serves as an indicator whatever they censor is likely true.
Last November, I wrote at Lifezette, warning cops to brace for an attack on law enforcement by a Biden presidency. His CNN town hall comments and other anti-law and order sentiments are vindicating my warning. And, at NPA, I wrote an article that police should brace for a resumption of the Obama-Biden-Holder era DOJ abuse of America’s law enforcement officers.
Since I paraphrased Biden above, I’ll continue the theme by also paraphrasing President Reagan about liberal ignorance. Biden and his anti-police far-left allies’ goal is to get Americans to believe “so much that isn’t so.”
