Are People Led by Anti-Police Officials Finally Fed Up with the Crime?

It’s essential that people who believe in the critical importance of law and order, not be silent on public safety issues. Nothing in society functions safely or efficiently without robust, constitutional law enforcement. What’s the first thing societies do after a natural disaster, like the 2010 Haitian earthquake? Restore law and order so other aspects of life can return to normal.

We need to remind people about the consequences of who they put in charge of some of the most critical aspects of their lives—like public safety. For example, in Brooklyn, NY, people have had enough of the lax law enforcement. But it’s not only lax enforcement because of the city and state’s warped anti-law and anti-cop priorities. Compounding this crisis is the deluge of illegal aliens into neighborhoods unable to sustain such an onslaught of criminal activity and other negative consequences of bad policies.

Thanks to government-sponsored “immigrant housing” (in this case, literally “warehousing”), this one at 47 Howe St., in Brooklyn’s formerly “charming” Clinton Hill neighborhood, there are reportedly over 3,000 illegal immigrants in a converted warehouse complex.

Residents say they are afraid to take their kids to the park or even go outside at all. The “migrant crime” has gotten worse because of this “mega-complex” sponsored by the city. Protesters are upset over the “skyrocketing violence, mounting trash, and the constant fights stemming from the massive complex.”

Finally fed up, Brooklyn residents have taken to the streets, pleading with their city councilmembers and mayor for help. So far, their pleas have fallen on largely indifferent ears. What’s got the residents so riled? The increased level of criminal activity in their neighborhood, including murder.

FOX5ny News reported after having reclaimed their neighborhood from criminals, residents complained about the surge of illegal immigrant crime. “We are here today because there is an attempt to put our neighborhood back 30 years in time when there were stabbings, drugs, assaults, fights, fear and killings. It used to be called ‘Murder Avenue,’ said Renee Collymore, a Clinton Hill resident who spoke at the rally.”

Obviously, it’s the NYPD that must deal with these increases in all kinds of crime.

I mentioned in a recent NPA article that the illegal alien violence affecting communities is not only seen in violent immigrants attacking Americans and legal residents but also illegal aliens preying on each other. Reportedly, much of the violent crime is associated with vicious Venezuelan gangs.

Whether it is drug deals, gang disputes, or carrying out contracts for the cartels to dispatch those who owe them money or slave labor, it doesn’t matter; the violence has increased. Reportedly, a suspect murdered a victim at the large shelter during a drive-by shooting and then soon after murdered another victim the same way at another nearby smaller shelter.

According to FOX News, another speaker at the rally who said they’ve had enough and want to be heard said, “It’s not about [being] anti-migrants. It’s about safety first.”

The anti-law-and-order, pro-illegal immigrant policies make the issue not “anti-migrant” but anti-illegal migrant. There is a vast difference between the two groups—one broke immigration law, and the other did not.

I’d advise people in these besieged neighborhoods to stop ceding any ground to the anti-police radicals if they want to accomplish their goals of reducing crime. Americans generally, right, left, and center, are not anti-immigrant. Most Americans can trace their ancestry back to legal immigration, which they support.

A resident added, “‘There is simply no universe where you can cram 4,000 vulnerable people together safely,’ said nearby resident Tim Walker. ‘Do you believe us now? How many more murders will it take?’”

Wishy-washy on public safety, former NYPD cop Mayor Eric Adams has agreed to go see for himself (so he can say he “did something”). Even if 99 percent of immigrants are non-violent, how many violent criminals among them does it take to commit mayhem and murder? Let’s say it’s one percent. One percent of 4,000 is 40 violent criminals.

I have a lot of sympathy for the residents but even more for the cops who continue to deal with the illegal immigrant criminal crush. And it’s not limited to places like Brooklyn or Chicago. I just learned through an X repost by Chief Scott Hughes of a post by the LELDF that, according to The National Pulse, an illegal alien criminal from Venezuela shot a San Antonio, Texas police officer multiple times after she’d responded to a reported domestic violence. Hopefully, she’ll recover from her surgery.

The Pulse also reported about the suspect, “Border Patrol apprehended Chacon-Gutierrez in November 2023 after he illegally crossed into the U.S. at Eagle Pass, Texas. Despite his illegal status, authorities soon released him into the U.S., scheduling his immigration court date far in the future in April 2026.”

It’s the same old story. This is preventable, folks.

After the officer was shot, fellow officers engaged with the suspect in a gunfight, during which either police killed the suspect or he committed suicide (doesn’t matter, good riddance).

But even with all this illegal alien violence, some residents remain tone-deaf and either don’t seem able to or refuse to link these outcomes with the types of officials they’re putting in office. One resident said they don’t mind sheltering “migrants” (illegal), but just not so many in such a small area. That kind of virtue signal thinking has allowed these officials to take that inch and okay these toxic policies into a mile.

If you want public safety restored, think pro-police, pro-rule of law, and pro-law and order.
