NPA Awards Grant for “Lune Belle” Lemoine to Become Louisiana’s First Therapy K9

October 15, 2023 – Indianapolis. The National Police Association announced today it had awarded a grant to St. Tammany Parish, LA, Reserve Deputy C.W. Lemoine to pay for training and certification of his dog Luna Belle, to become Louisiana’s first law enforcement therapy K9.

Luna Belle has already visited special needs children, patients in cancer centers and nursing homes, and attended community events as part of the department’s new K9 outreach program.

When not serving the residents of the Parish, former F16 combat fighter pilot Lemoine works as a commercial pilot and serves as a Major in the United States Air Force Reserve.
