(Indianapolis, IN) – The National Police Association announced today it has awarded the Scott County, KY Sheriff’s Office a $1000.00 grant. The grant will support the department in obtaining D.A.R.E. program supplies, shirts and equipment.
Scott County was formed in 1792. It was one of the first counties created after Statehood. It was named for Revolutionary War hero, Gen. Charles Scott, who led the Kentucky Militia at the 1794 victory at the Battle of Fallen Timbers, and served as Governor from 1808 – 1812.
Located in the heart of Central Kentucky, Scott County lays claim to the true birthplace of bourbon, the hometown of numerous horse-centric attractions. It also provides the opportunity to get up close and personal with stars of the turf at Horse Racing’s living history museum, Old Friends Thoroughbred Retirement Farm. And you can share Kentucky’s love of horses at the Kentucky Horse Park, an over 1,200 acre world famous equine attraction.
The National Police Association (NPA) is a 501(c)3 Educational/Advocacy non-profit organization. For additional information visit www.nationalpolice.org.
