Hidalgo County Constable Precinct 4 Awarded National Police Association Grant

The National Police Association has awarded the Hidalgo County Constable Precinct 4 in Hidalgo County, Texas, a $1000.00 grant in support of their Child I.D. Kit program.

The Child I.D. Kit is part of the Hidalgo County Constable Precinct 4 mission “To provide community programs directed towards assisting the public with education and awareness.”

This kit allows parents to take, store and control their child’s fingerprints and DNA in their own home. When reporting a missing child, the most important tools law enforcement needs are a quality picture and descriptive information. The kit also includes an inkless fingerprint system to record the child’s fingerprints and DNA swabs to collect the child’s DNA. The Child I.D. Kit is kept at home. If ever needed the kit will provide the department information to assist in efforts to locate the missing child.

Hidalgo County Constable Precinct 4 is located in the county seat of Edinburg, Texas. The department serves the City of Edinburg, Faysville, City of McAllen, San Manuel and San Carlos representing a population of over 190,000.
