Of Law Enforcement.
The NPA defends law enforcement agencies, officers, their supporters and the public using litigation, communications, activism, and advocacy. In addition to filing our own lawsuits and FOIA requests, the NPA reviews lawsuits with the potential to create negative precedents in public safety, officer safety and constitutional rights. In those cases the NPA enters as a friend of the court to provide legal support for all who could be harmed by an adverse outcome.
Tools for LEO’s
We provide tools to local law enforcement such as legal backing to preserve the methods officers need to do their job, public education on police techniques to generate community support for law enforcement, and morale boosting programs such as the NPA Thank A Cop billboard program and Thank You cards.
We offer grants to law enforcement reserve divisions, explorers, cadets, chaplains, and other programs established to help citizens help police departments accomplish their goals. We also consider grants to departments for equipment and training. Maximum grant allocation is $1000 per year.
We offer rewards for information leading to an arrest in specific cases where violence against an officer has been committed or officers have been obstructed and prevented from conducting their duties. Law enforcement agencies seeking assistance can review the conditions and then contact us for assistance.
