A Good Drubbing for Anti-Police Candidates/Issues Almost Everywhere

A Good Drubbing for Anti-Police Candidates/Issues Almost Everywhere

There may finally some reason to hope for a change in the treatment of law enforcement officers across America is imminent. First, there was the stunning Republican upset sweep of three major state offices in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Despite Democrat Terry McAuliffe being a former Virginia governor, Democrat Joe Biden winning the state by 10 points in 2020, and Republican Glenn Youngkin being a political novice, the newcomer exploded Democrat heads across the politisphere when he pulled off this upset. A peculiar confluence of events precipitated the win, as pro-police Youngkin got better and better at campaigning and anti-cop McAuliffe got worse and worse—and worse.

I guess some voters just don’t like it when an infamous “Republican” group, supporting a leftist candidate, deploys fake white supremacists to smear a conservative opponent. You’d think if white supremacists were as ubiquitous as the left says, they wouldn’t have to hire pretend racists and arm them with tiki torches from Target.

Aside from Youngkin’s win, U.S. Marine Corps veteran Winsome Sears will become the first woman elected Virginia’s Lieutenant Governor. She’ll also be the first black woman in the commonwealth to hold a statewide office.

In a captivating acceptance speech, Lt. Gov-elect Sears said, “What you are looking at is the American dream.” Among her other accomplishment, RT.com described the immigrant from Jamaica as a “gun-loving ex-Marine.”

Rounding out the R’s winning trio, Jason Miyares also made a bit of history. While it’s much more important to the left than to the right, it’s still appropriate to note that Miyares is the first Latino to be elected Virginia attorney general. While the race was close, Miyares claimed victory and, soon after, incumbent Mark Herring conceded defeat.

Another pleasant surprise was the voters in Minneapolis struck down an attempt to essentially abolish the Minneapolis Police Department—at least, in its traditional form.

The measure would have effectively replaced police officers with social workers in some sort of nebulous public health/safety department. FOX News reported voters not only soundly defeated this absurd effort but also defeated several defund-the-police city council candidates who supported the measure.

One somber note for the police officers, Austin, Texas voters failed to approve a ballot measure that would have hired more cops, provided more police training, and increased minority hiring. Reportedly, several leftists groups, including George Soros’ Open Society, poured cash in to the opposition campaign to help defeat the measure.

FOX News also reported the National FOP VP, Joe Gamaldi, a current Houston police sergeant, “sounded off” on what this means for Austin’s cops. He described the mayor and city council as “giving the finger to the hardworking men and women of law enforcement in the Austin Police Department for quite some time. And what they did is they scared the public.” The murder rate in Austin is up 88 percent. That’s what should scare the public.

One of the strangest election wins was for a pro-police Republican in… wait for it… Seattle. After thrashing the cop-hating, long-time non-prosecuting Pete Holmes in the primary, one candidate to his right and the other, believe it or not, to his left, duked it out for the job of City Attorney. And it’s looking like the candidate to his right won.

After more than a decade of Holmes refusing to prosecute criminals in Seattle while salivating at any chance to prosecute cops, city voters decide they didn’t want more of the same or even worse. They decided instead to return the city to some normalcy.

Although the election hasn’t been certified, it looks like pro-cop Republican Ann Davis has handily defeated Democrat, and vicious police abolitionist, Nicole Thomas Kennedy (NTK). During the primary campaign, Davison drew the ire of Holmes for posing for a photo in front of a thin blue line flag with Seattle Police Guild President Mike Solan.

But while Davison posed with a cop, some of NTK’s anti-police tweets caught voter’s attention. Even the leftist Seattle Times, which actually endorsed Davison, condemned NTK’s anti-police tweets. Reddit listed NTK’s following tweets some of which have been deleted.

“I’m way left but atm (at the moment) can only tweet about my rabid hatred of the police. I currently read like a single issue law enforcement abolition anarchist.” Which is pretty darn accurate.

About the Antifa radicals who’d set off an explosive at the Seattle P.D. East Precinct she tweeted, “this person is a hero.”

And, this is one of the deleted tweets, but I had to include it: “Just want to remind everyone that this little USA come apart [CHOP/CHAZ?] is because cops are serial killers, and a big chunk of you are serial killer apologists.”

It is a true mystery how this charming woman did not get elected? But she didn’t, and the cops can hopefully look forward to a criminal prosecutor who actually works with, rather than against, the police.
